Graphic reading "Performance Bandanas for Sweaty, Dirty People."

I’m Brendan, founder of Bully Adventure Rags. I spend a lot of time outside — backpacking, biking, running and fly fishing — and a bandana is always in my kit.

Headband. Face wipe. Sun cover. Gear rag. Emergency everything.

The problem is, bandanas are built like fashion accessories — not performance gear. So I rebuilt the bandana for sweaty, dirty people (like me).

First, I ditched cotton for linen.

Linen is 25,000 years older than cotton, and there’s a reason it stuck around. It’s 40% more absorbent, 30-50% faster drying, 20-40% more breathable, 2-3 times stronger and far more odor resistant than cotton. Basically, it’s caveman performance fabric.

Then I tackled size. Instead of one big square trying to do everything, I made three sizes for three jobs: a full-size Bandana for wearing, a pocket-friendly Hanky for quick wipes, and a dedicated Gear Cloth for lenses, tech and other sensitive gear when out in the field.

Then I obsessed over access and dry time. That’s why every Bully has a hidden Field Loop and attachable carabiner — so you have the added option of hanging it, so you can grab it fast and dry it even faster.

Then we softened the heck out of it, because nobody wants a crunchy bandana — cotton, linen or otherwise.

That’s Bully: reinventing the bandana for sweaty, dirty people.

Thanks for giving us a try.

❤️ Brendan

Origin Story

Bully started with a simple frustration: bandanas are useful as all get-out, but most of them are made of cotton — and cotton is terrible at being wet and dirty.
